I'm buying an exhaust brake soon for my 97 Ram with 12-valve Cummins and so far the BD-Diesel model 1037215 is my top choice. The install instructions indicate this e-brake can be used with stock exhaust springs but also says the back pressure at idle needs to be set to 10-12 lbs. How and where is this adjustment? Also, how much engine braking HP would this e-brake produce with stock exhaust springs? Last thing - I read online from a installing dealer that these loose some efficiency when operated at higher elevations above 5000 ft. I live in Colorado and operate the truck anywhere from 5000 to 10000 ft. Will this e-brake perform well or should I consider something else?
